Write a story for an English-language magazine. You are free to choose any subject and invent any plot, but you have to base your story around at least two of these characters:

• Alice (calculating, persistent)
• Jason (inquisitive, reckless)
• Pat (cheerful; squeamish)
• Clyde (unscrupulous; meticulous)

The adjectives in brackets describe the characters' personal traits. Write your story in such a way that these traits are demonstrated. Do not simply write "Alice was calculating"; describe situations in which her calculating nature manifests itself.

Write 200–250 words.
